Hanbo jutsu (B2) course

The purpose of the course is to introduce hanbo (short stick) techniques against an armed attacker.

In the Bujinkan, the Kukishinden ryu and Amatsu Tatara traditions contain written techniques related to stick fighting. A common mistake is to start immediately with the more complex kata (form exercises), which will result in a superficial knowledge, and the movements will not have the proper dynamics and precision behind them, which will make a technique really work.

Countless objects that surround us in everyday life can also be turned into hanbo. That is why learning stick fighting is very useful from a self-defense point of view. In medieval Japan, even those wanderers who were not allowed to carry weapons used their walking sticks for self-defense, as they would not have had much of a chance against frequent robber attacks with their bare hands.

The tradition of Kukishinden ryu holds that a warrior's halberd (naginata) was cut off by his opponent and then forced to wield it like a bare stick to defeat him and his other armored enemies. Later, this gave rise to bo-jutsu, or the art of stick fighting, in which the swinging of the stick was developed to such a level that it proved to be effective even against an armed, armored soldier.

provides an introduction to the use of the long (rokushaku) bo (180 cm) and the short hanbo (90 cm) from the basics,

Final exam

A vizsga egy külön meghirdetett időpontban kerül megrendezésre, aminek a sikeres teljesítése esetén diplomát adunk.
